As the largest transit operator in the state of Tennessee, MATA are fully committed to providing top customer service in every aspect of their operation from trolleys to regular fixed route service.


Each weekday, they proudly transport nearly 40,000 riders throughout Memphis and the surrounding areas on 244 transit vehicles including paratransit vans, vintage rail trolleys and conventional accessible buses. They serve four (4) cities in Shelby County and West Memphis in Arkansas. Their authentic vintage trolleys offer a nostalgic trip to some of downtown's most notable attractions and a breathtaking view of the mighty Mississippi River along the magnificent Riverfront.
