In August 1997, a branch was opened in Johannesburg to cater for increased demand. Although still small relative to their Cape Town operation they have plans to grow in size and then expand to other regions.

They have also recently opened in Port Elizabeth to cater for increasing demand for one way rentals down the Garden Route.

Comet continually strives to make the customers' Car Rental experience a pleasure - their unique and very affordable Full Cover option where no excess is applicable for damages to the rented car, and the fact that they offer unlimited km for rentals of 4 days or longer are just two features that set Comet apart from the rest.
