Since the launch of the original BN2 Piston Islander in 1965, they have prided ourselves in building the most rugged and reliable Short Take Off & Landing (STOL) aircraft on the market. For the majority of their customers the Islander still provides the only viable solution for short sector and rough field operations.
Building on that original design, the company has since expanded the fleet to include the unique 18 seat, 3 engined Trislander and the 10 seat, Rolls-Royce turboprop powered Islander and Defender series aircraft.
The company specialises in low volume manufacture of bespoke solutions designed specifically to meet the customer's needs. All their aircraft are hand built to order and can incorporate either a selection of the 2000+ modifications that have been created to date, or a new modification package designed around your individual needs.
The only independent commercial aircraft manufacturer in the United Kingdom, Britten-Norman has a pedigree extending over 5 decades. With more than 1250 aircraft manufactured (and the majority of them still in daily operation), Britten-Norman is arguably the most successful commercial aircraft manufacturer in British History.
The original Islander and the higher capacity Trislander derivative have successfully operated in some of the harshest conditions on the planet. Both types remain firm favourites with operators across the world. The ubiquitous Islander remains a byword for rugged reliability and has an enviable safety record.
