On 30 January 1992, Ministry of Transport (MoT) assigns the working group a task to make Air codex of Republic of Latvia. The working group develops a draft for act of "About aviation". The main contributor is a lawyer in the Aviation Department of the MoT, and a pilot V. Vismanis.


On 15 October 1993, Civil Aviation Administration starts to work under the leadership of Andris Zalmanis.

On 20 October 1994, Saeima establishes and the President announces an act "About aviation" of Republic of Latvia in a new redaction which regulates activities of Civil Aviation Administration.

On 1 January 2006, Civil Aviation Administration reforms into Civil Aviation Agency.

Enact out national policy on aviation and aviation safety and to ensure that international aviation obligations are met.

The Latvian CAA is a proffessional and progressive organization. As an equal and active stakeholder it has organicaly merged in European and Global aviation civil aviation environment, and it ensures high level of flight safety.
