London Biggin Hill Airport is situated in South East London and just 12 miles from the heart of the capital. The airport is both a quick and convenient Gateway to London and a cluster of high value businesses engaged in aviation and technology.


The airfield was originally opened by the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) during the First World War. At first it was used for wireless experiments, but was then established in 1917 as part of the London Air Defence Area, responsible for defending the capital against attacks by Zeppelins and Gotha bombers. To this end, 141 Squadron of the RFC was based at Biggin Hill and equipped with Bristol Fighters.

Over the past 40 years, this famous Airport has steadily changed from being a busy RAF base into a commercial regional airport. The historic ties are remembered annually at the international Biggin Hill Air Show.

The airport provides a multiple choice of service centres for Business and General Aviation. It scores highly with owners and operators who value the location and range of owners’ facilities available. The airport handles a wide variety of aircraft – from the smallest single engined private Piper up to jets of various sizes including Gulfstream, Embraer, Dassault Falcon, Cessna and Bombardier.

Passenger reception and handling services are provided by the airport at the passenger terminal and by Jet Aviation and Rizon (from 2010) from their facilities on the airport.
