Kuwait International Airport
Kuwait International Airport is located in Farwaniya, Kuwait, 16 kilometers south of Kuwait City. It is the hub of Kuwait Airways, Jazeera Airways & Wataniya Airways. A portion of the airport complex is designated as Al Mubarak Air Base, which contains the headquarters of the Kuwait Air Force, as well as the Kuwait Air Force Museum.

1927-1928, Opening of Kuwait’s first airport, located in the Dasma area on the outskirts of the city. First flights to "Dasma Airport" are operated by Imperial Airways — an ancestor of British Airways — using the desert landing strip as a refueling stop on the Britain-India-Britain air route.

Passenger services have been catapulted onto an altogether higher plane with the opening of the first phase of the KD 18 million (USD60 million) expansion of the passenger terminal, including a spacious new Commercial Centre adjacent to the Arrival Hall, and extensive car parking facilities. Help desks are available in the ground floor of the terminal building for information on Kuwait Visa Service and other whereabouts. Banks, fax and satellite telephones are available for business purposes, currency exchange and money transfer. There are also restaurants and cafes. There are duty free shops and other shops in the Commercial Center. Apart from these, Kuwait International Airport also consists of disabled facilities and conference facilities. Number of Airport Hotels like Safir Airport Hotel and Crowne Plaza Kuwait City are also located in the vicinity.
