Lübeck Airport is located in the Federal State Schleswig-Holstein in Germany and is one of the most major airports for Schleswig-Holstein.

Lübeck Airport GmbH, founded in 1958, has been part of Infratil Airports Europe Ltd. since 6th December 2005. Infratil Airports Europe Ltd. also owns Glasgow Prestwick and Kent International airports in Great Britain.

Infratil Airport Europe is a subsidiary of Infratil Ltd., a New Zealand-based company that specialises in infrastructure and utility holdings. The company's shares are listed on the New Zealand stock exchange.

Infratil owns airports in New Zealand and Europe and has interests in electricity, waste to energy conversion, and harbours in New Zealand and Australia.

Infratil is a long-term investor and is an active and added-value shareholder. Infratil is managed by HRL Morrison & Co Limited ("Morrison & Co"), which both identifies and evaluates investment opportunities on Infratil's behalf and then manages those investments to realise their potential. Morrison & Co operates from offices in Wellington (New Zealand), Brisbane (Australia) and Berlin.

In 2007, Lübeck Airport looked back over its 90 year history.

Since 2000, Lübeck Airport has been able to increasingly build on its market position, particularly in its regular services focussing on Low Cost Carriers (LCC).

Since December 2005, 90% of the company’s shares have been owned by Infratil Airports Europe Ltd, the parent of which, Infratil Ltd., is listed on the New Zealand stock exchange. 10% of the company’s shares continue to be held by the Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

In order to be able to comfortably handle the catchment area of more than 7 million people (in a radius of 120 minutes travel to and from the airport) and approximately 4.1 million people (within 90 minutes journey time) together with the dynamic growth, particularly on regional platforms with a high low cost share, further expansion of Lübeck Airport is needed.

their goal is to make your time at the airport and your departure and arrival as comfortable as possible so that you can start your holiday right here in Lübeck.
