Engadin Airport is located at Samedan in the Engadin valley of Switzerland, just 5 km from St. Moritz. At an elevation of 1,707 metres (5,600 ft) it is the highest airport in Europe. It has one runway designated 03/21. The airport has no scheduled flights anymore. Samedan Airport is one of the available airports on the Google Earth flight simulator.

In 4 February 2008, "Sungate" is the name of the winning project in the tender for the redesign of Engadin Airport.

On 28 January 2008, almost 70 years to the day after the opening of the airport, a new milestone was set up with the presentation of the initial development and expansion projects for Engadin Airport, with the aim of making it an economic driver for the region in the new millennium.

In February 2009, two accidents involving private jets occurred within a week of each other at the airport. On 7 February, a Global Express aircraft arriving from Warsaw overshot the end of the runway and plowed into snow. The aircraft was damaged but no injuries were reported. On 12 February, a Falcon 10 aircraft from Vienna crashed during landing after a wing contacted a snow wall at the edge of the runway. The pilot and co-pilot were killed, and the single passenger onboard was seriously injured.
