Archerfield Airport
Location
Archerfield Airport is Queensland's major centre for general aviation activities. Located just 11kms from the Brisbane CBD and in close proximity to Stradbroke, Moreton and Frazer islands, Archerfield Airport has become a favourite destination for corporate aircraft, charter, flying training and all kinds of maintenance requirements.
Archerfield Airport has a multi-runway configuration comprising two parallel runways in two different directions. Parallel 28/10 runways and their complementing full-length taxiways have sealed pavements. The main runway, 28R/10L, and its supporting taxiway are both equipped with pilot activated lighting to aid nighttime flying. The 04/22 crosswind parallel runways and taxiways have sealed runway thresholds.
Archerfield Airport is one of 21 significant Australian Airports operated under the Australian Airports (1996) Act. Archerfield Airport Corporation (AAC) has operated and managed the airfield since June 1998. AAC is committed to the long-term success of the Airport as a significant aviation facility serving south-east Queensland. This commitment has been realised through AAC's contribution to various developments on the Airport in the past 10 years.
Vision: Archerfield Airport Corporation strives to nurture the dynamic potential of Archerfield as a superior aviation destination
