Aerodrom Ljubljana d.d. is the leading Slovenian airport operator. It owns and manages the Brnik International Airport, near the capital Ljubljana, central Slovenia. Aerodrom Ljubljana d.d. is majority owned by the state. The Company is listed on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange.
The first aircraft landed at Brnik at 1045 on 24 December 1963, marking the official opening of the airport. Adrias DC-6B was followed by JATs Caravelle. Regular air traffic, after the grand opening, started on 9 January 1964.
In January 2008 Aerodrom Ljubljana introduced web check-in and concluded runway extension. The controls at internal air borders were abolished in March. That month Adria Airways also opened scheduled flights to Bucharest, Athens, Stockholm and Oslo. The first Clickair aircraft landed at the airport at July 4. They also started construction on the north car park, with an access road and link to the main terminal. In the end of August we greeted the landing of JAL's aicraft that came to their airport directly from Tokio. In September they selected the contructor and managing company of the new hotel which will open in 2010. In December noise monitoring began in the area of the airport.
Mission
Their mission is to ensure that all the airports users are provided with flight services and other commercial services that are safe, punctual and of high quality, and to attend to the development of the airport in line with carriers and passengers demands, the types of traffic and the requirements of the European Union.
Vision
In the next decade they aim to expand their infrastructure and increase their traffic also outside Europe to become a leading provider of air connections and services in this region, both for passenger traffic and cargo traffic.
