Salmon Air has been operating as an air service since 1960. In 1982, the business was bought by Dan Schroeder and JoAnn Wolters, who spent the next 27 years building the buisness into one of the most successful operations in the state. The company has enjoyed a great repuation as a safety-consicous organization with reliable, friendly customer service.
In early May of 2009, Dan and JoAnn completed the sale of Salmon Air to another great organization: McCall Aviation. Now Salmon Air is functioning as part of the McCall Avaiation family, and the combined operations create the largest backcountry and scheduled commuter air service provider in Idaho. Dan Scott and president of McCall Avaition is looking forward to providing Salmon Air and McCall Avaition customers with "an expanded fleet, better pricing, more overall capacity and an expanded base of operations in Salmon." Dan and JoAnn, as well as multiple other Salmon Air employees, will work for McCall Aviation through the Salmon Air branch, ensuring a smooth transition and un-interrupted service for current customers.
Their mission is to provide safe, convenient, and comfortable service to their customers.
