Rhoades Aviation, Inc. is a full service FBO that has been serving local, corporate and transient aircraft owners and operators since 1968.


They are headquartered in Columbus, Indiana at Columbus Municipal Airport (BAK). The city of Columbus is located 40 miles south of Indianapolis and 70 miles north of Louisville, just east of I-65.

In addition to fuel and a large parking ramp, they offer aircraft storage, maintenance, sales, charter, rental, pilot services and flight instruction.

Their modern terminal facility includes "Blackerby's Hangar 5" restaurant, a spacious lobby, pilot lounge equipped with Lazyboy loungers, showers and computerized weather. They also have wireless internet, a conference room and banquet facilities. They can also help with rental car, taxi and limousine services.

Rhoades Aviation operates commercial all-cargo Convair 640 aircraft in the US, Mexico, Canada, Bahamas and Caribbean. With only 5,000 feet of runway required, these workhorses can service less improved locations more accessible to the ultimate cargo destination. The Convair 640 cruises at 250 mph and has a load capacity of over 15,000 pounds.

Their commercial fleet also includes the turbine Douglas DC-3TP. This airframe is proven by getting the job done for more than five decades. The DC-3TP is good for shorter haul trips with loads up to 7,500 pounds. It can cruise at 200 mph and only requires runways of 4,000 feet which allows it to service airfields not accessible to many other commercial cargo aircraft.

In addition to the Rhoades all-cargo fleet of commercial aircraft, they also feature the Cessna 310 and 402 which can handle 4 to 6 passengers or up to 1,400 pounds of freight. These aircraft are perfect for "NEED NOW" shipping requirements or urgent, last-minute business travel for destinations of 500 nm
