Since 1965 Papillon Helicopters has been the world’s oldest and largest sightseeing company flying an estimated 600,000 passengers a year on its daily tours to the Grand Canyon. With over forty unique day and overnight excursions – that feature spectacular sights of the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Monument Valley, Page/Lake Powell, and unforgettable views of the Grand Canyon – Papillon has been providing visitors a privileged perspective to one of the world’s greatest natural wonders.


Primarily designed for aircraft tours, many of the 48 helicopters in the Papillon fleet feature vista windows and all offer pre-recorded narratives in 11 languages (12 including English) for passengers. On many of their tours Papillon’s helicopters descend to 4000 feet ensuring a very special and cerebral view of the colorful steep-sided gorge that is the Grand Canyon.

Papillon holds the prestigious Five Star Diamond Award (1999 and 2000) for its commitment to superior quality, hospitality, and service from the Academy of Hospitality Sciences. The Tour Operators Program of Safety also recognizes Papillon for meeting and exceeding federal safety standards and procedures.
