Air Nootka Ltd. was incorporated in 1981, and currently operates two types of floatplanes. These aircraft, a Cessna 185 and two De Havilland Beavers, are meticulously maintained and inspected. All their pilots have extensive flying experience on the West Coast.


Air Nootka takes pride in providing the best service to new and longtime customers. As they are positioned on Vancouver Island’s west coast, and weather conditions in the mountain passes to the east are sometimes unpredictable, it is then less likely to cause flight delays. Consequently, if you are travelling to or from Nootka or Kyuquot sounds, the probability you will reach your port of call is better if you fly with them. They can move your group to west coast communities, sea kayaking and sport fishing lodges, or popular hiking trails more efficiently from their Gold River base.

Air Nootka is a floatplane operation based out of Gold River, British Columbia, on the beautiful west coast of Vancouver Island. They service all of Vancouver Island, including Victoria, Nanaimo, Comox, Campbell River and Kyuquot, as well as the city of Vancouver and other major centres on the mainland. Whether you are planning to hike the Nootka Trail, fish at one the lodges in Nootka Sound, surf at a remote beach, or travel for business or pleasure to a small community or large city, Air Nootka can accommodate your needs.
